It Will only be in effect during schedule loadshedding times and only stage 4 and below. If loadsheding is on stage 5 and above regular loadsheding will be in effect.

Load limiting allows  most of  appliances to be used during the allotted loadshedding times up to 2300W.

This means that large power drawing items (anything with a heating or cooling function) should not be used.

Stoves
Ovens
Geysers
Kettles
Microwaves
Dishwashers
Washing Machines.

The point of load limiting to to ‘keep the lights on’ as well as security systems so that the community stays safe.
