Following request for help was received from The Village Safe Haven. Let us as Buccleuch community show them some support.

Trust that your new year will be blessed and prosperous.

Now that Christmas is over and we are into the new year we would please like to ask that our most desperate day to day needs can be published on the Buccleuch website.  We have huge needs that we are struggling to meet financially and we have to resort to many alternative ways and means to support ourselves financially and materially in order for us to make ends meet.

The following will assist hugely and if the community could assist we will be sincerely grateful.  We know that many people are struggling and we will be aiming to start a community soup kitchen in the near future as well which can at least feed a hot meal to someone in dire need per day:

Our needs:

10 breads per day

8Litres of Milk per day

500g of Margerine per day

Sandwich fillers

Fresh fruit and vegetables

Daily protein

An average of R300,00 per day for transport/petrol.

We are also currently looking for jobs for 2  young men aged 19 who have completed school and need to work to become independent and will pick up their studies at a later stage.  The one is very interested in plumbing and the other is able to weld.  The one is a frontline young man who is very well spoken and very capable, the other capable understands English well and read and writes it but not a front liner.
