RE NEW DEVELOPMENT NORTH OF BUCCLEUCH

Please join us for a Buccleuch residents' meeting with the management of the Balwin Properties regarding their development north of Buccleuch, as well as a brief status update and overview of the Residents' Association activities.
There have been a number of engagements with Balwin about construction vehicles using Perth, Muller North and Denise Roads to access the development. Unfortunately there is currently no way to access part of the development from Old Pretoria Road. We've discussed speeding vehicles and safety, the effects on our roads infrastructure, security, cleaning the roads and other matters.
Rather than continue to have separate individual meetings, this meeting will give Balwin an opportunity to meet all affected Buccleuch residents as a group and respond directly to our concerns. They will also be able to provide an insight into the challenges they have faced and what we can expect over the duration of the project, which is expected to take a couple of years at least.

WHERE: Montessori School, corner Perth and Twain (Thank you to the school for hosting us at no cost).
Balwin Properties has already responded to some of our concerns. The company has...: -
- instructed their supplier and construction vehicles to reduce speed on our roads, especially past the school.
- initiated the procurement of temporary speed bumps on Muller and Denise.
- set up a weekly process to clean the roads.
- responded to our concerns that the gate into their development is a security risk.
- accelerated the building of the Maxwell Drive extension so they don't need to go through Buccleuch. This is expected to be ready by 31 August and they will try to complete it sooner.
- Balwin is also trying to expedite permission from the authorities to build an internal bridge which will allow them to move between all the different phases of the development without coming into Buccleuch.
