The Balwin development to the north of Buccleuch will have significant impact on the suburb. The development will introduce approximately 7000 new dwelling units over the next few years, in an estimated price range of R750 000 (40m2 units) to R1.4million for larger units.

The development will see substantial new and existing roads improvements, additional infrastructure services such as water, electricity and sewerage, and a host of other changes. These will include new entrances into Buccleuch and better overall road access to the entire area between Buccleuch, Midrand, Modderfonmtein and Waterfall.
