Dear Buccleuch Residents.

JRA have assessed the low bridge on Bridge road and have deemed it unsafe for use. It has been closed using concrete bollards to ensure there are no accidents or damage to vehicles and or persons.

Despite BRA and our ward Councillor putting pressure on JRA, we have not been given any repair timeline. We have been advised that the repairs are in the planning stage, however there is possibly no current budget for these repairs.

We are acutely aware of how this will affect daily traffic flow from the east of Buccleuch as there is now only one main exit via Buccleuch drive for many residents.

Our suggestion would be that all affected residents continue to log service calls to JRA as well as the management of City of Johannesburg to see whether we can push for a sooner rather than later repair and reopening of the bridge.

Please communicate the closure to other Buccleuch residents.
