BRACe received their Election Observer Bibs & Accreditation cards from IEC today. Independant observation is BRACe's contriution to a free and fair election.

ELECTIONS :

Sandton SAPS and all other law enforcement agencies will be highly visible before and during the Local Government Elections. The 18 Polling Stations in Sandton have all been classified as "Low Risk". All Polling Stations will all have a strong presence of the law enforcement agencies.

The authorities have requested that the community be vigilant and be on the lookout for possible flash points and trouble starting - elections and voting are an emotional affair, and tensions can run high - please report any suspect or untoward behaviour to the relevant authorities as a matter of urgency. Campaigning and canvassing is not allowed at Polling Stations.
