BRACe and BSC join forces

BRACe and BSC join forces

We are thrilled to announce that BRACe and BSC have formally agreed to join forces as one Buccleuch Residents and Ratepayers Association. As many of you already know we have been working together informally for some time, and are excited to now make it formal.

Lost opportunities, under-utilised talents, ideas not implemented, projects and improvement plans not fully undertaken - simply because we were not working together with a common purpose.

We are all people of Buccleuch and we should never have a divided community: A community which stands together can overcome all hurdles easily, especially when the vision is the same.

After 3 years of working from different angles for the same purpose, BRACE and BSC have agreed to merge the two organisations into a single, representative Residents Association. Both bodies had the same vision for Buccleuch and recognised that working independently is not in the best interest of our community.

With immediate effect the teams are now working together as one. We are sure you will agree this can only be a step in the right direction.

What’s next:

  • We'll shortly ask for your help to select a new name for the association.
  • A revised MOI will be put together for your consideration and adoption
  • A residents' meeting will be held to introduce the new team and ask for your input, ideas and support.

Who is the team:

Chair:  Davy Ivins;
Co-Deputy Chair: Teesh Soudamma
Co Deputy Chair: Fareed Kaloo

Directors:
Imraan Norath, Jackie Williams, Jay Soudamma, Jim Powell, Lapo Dlamini, Remo Torrente,
Shamith Maharaj, Steven Freemantle, and Waseem Ebrahim.

Other team members:
Anna-Marie West (Secretary); Johan Swanevelder, Lerato Moche; Nirosh Soorajbally; Wihann Boucher,

Please throw your support behind the new Association. Our vision is “One Buccleuch” and it will only materialise if the community stands with us to make the difference we so desperately want to see in Buccleuch.

NB: If you (or your company if based in Buccleuch) are not yet a paying member of the association please sign up now. To be able to make a difference for the community we need your financial support. Membership fees are only R100 per month (there is no cost for pensioners, and if you can't afford the R100 let us know and we will make a plan for you).

Sincerely
The Buccleuch Residents and Ratepayers Association Team
